It’s time again for my August Subscription Box Favorites round up! I can’t take it that summer is nearly almost over. It’s just hands-down the best season there is. The sun, the warmth, the flowers and happy birds and creatures, not to mention the fact that you don’t have to layer on a marshmallow suit to go outside. It’s just the best! It only makes sense then, that some of my favorite subscription box finds yet came this month as I savor the last true summer days this year.
I’ve picked an item to highlight from each subscription box review I’ve done in the last month so you can get a taste for what comes in each. Be sure to click the link to get the full box reviews so you can get the full box details too! Many are linked over A Year of Boxes where you can find discount codes and more if you’re interested in subscribing.

Earth Harbor Helios – Anti-Pollution Youth Ampoule ($48)
“Named after the powerful greek deity of the sun, helios anti-pollution youth ampoule is an almighty ambrosia brimming with ultra-reparative plant stem cells and a fountain of youth-preserving red algae astaxanthin.”
Wow! This product looks amazing. From it’s beautiful red ombre hue, to the skin nourishing & repairing ingredients, not to mention the value of this product too – it’s a real treat to find in this month’s box. It smells amazing, like a sweet fruit & floral and the texture is nice and lightweight. The star ingredient (and the one that gives it that incredible red hue) is known to help reduce the effects pollution & daily stressors in harming skin. It’s said to help repair the skin’s barrier and help replenish the cells. Plus, it says it helps in blocking blue light from screens. This serum sounds like a real nourishing treat for the skin. I can’t wait to try it out!

Caney Creek Soap Co Spearmint & Lime Soap Bar
“Hi! I’m Martha and I make soap, and to be a little more specific, I make an WAVES all natural bar soap using potassium hydroxide, rainwater filtered twice, and Himalayan salt. In 2012 I decided to try to make soap the old fashion way with oak wood, ashes, and rainwater. Working on the recipe off and on for the next several years and by trying numerous ingredients I finally found the right amount of lye, water, oil, and salt for the recipe that I have today, a hard bar soap made naturally with potassium hydroxide. My soap will lather in fresh, brackish or saltwater. It is conditioning to your skin, it has no chemicals, it is all natural, biodegradable and environmentally friendly.”
Hand crafted soap is one of my favorite things to receive in subscription boxes. Not only is it a useful item, but mostly because they are all so unique and beautiful. Hand crafted soap is so thoughtfully made that each one makes showering a delightful and calming experience. This soap especially fits that bill as it’s scented with cooling spearmint and uplifting lime. It makes me think of a cool breeze on a warm, sunny day by the beach. This soap is extra unique since it’s made with fresh and filtered rain water – that makes it seem extra natural and fresh in my mind. I can’t wait to use this one!
Another item from Crunchy Mama Box, because I couldn’t decide!
JeJa Oil Co Muscle And Joint Pain Relief Oil
“”I developed the product to treat the many injuries my athletic son was coming home with,” says Jeja founder Lily Ahaiwe. “As a basketball player he was straining muscles and putting a lot of stress on his joints. I didn’t want to give him pain medications, so I developed the oil as a way of treating the injuries. Soon after, all of his teammates began using it and I knew that there was a market for this product.” The JeJa team has worked with farmers and producers who use sustainable and ethical business practices to ensure that JeJa Oil is not only good for the body, but for the earth. “I wanted to do something good for environment” says Lily “and Jeja is my opportunity to not only help people feel better, but live better.””
What a wonderful sounding product! I love finding muscle/pain relief rubs in subscription boxes as I often have sore muscles and achey joints so they are extra useful for me. This one is a lightweight oil (the base is grapeseed) and has a soothing essential oil blend to soothe muscles. It smells minty, cool and herbal – very refreshing. It rubs in nicely and has a very mild cooling effect. I only tested this on on my hand for now, but I can’t wait to try it out on my neck and shoulders.

Delia Organics Facial Spritzer With Clary Sage And Niacinamide ($26)
“Infused with Vitamin B3, you will notice a change in skin tone, texture and hydration with continued use. How to use: Spray all over face as needed.”
I have been really into using niacinamide in my skincare lately so this item is perfect for me to try in my skincare routine. It’s made with lavender, tea tree and clary sage floral waters and includes salicylic acid and glycerin, plus of course, niacinamide. It smells refreshing, like a crisp and herbal floral and seems like it would be delightful for skin. I like trying different toners so I can’t wait to give this one a test run.

Hungry Buddha – Coconut Cocoa Keto Bar
“So much coconut and chocolate flavor for something so low-carb!”
Chocolate coconut is such a good flavor combo so this bar sounds tasty. It would make a great snack or even a good breakfast on the go. Some protein bars can be too dense or lack texture, but from the outside of the package this one feels like it might be lighter with a hint of crunch (the ingredients list pea protein crisps, so likely).
From Kinder Beauty (full box review here):
Earth Harbor Marina Biome Brightening Ampoule ($38)
“Named for the treasured ocean-blue botanicals spirulina and blue tansy, this product harbors highly concentrated, adaptogenic oils that vigorously brighten and balance for an even, radiant complexion. An overachiever, this product works on a deep-level-optimizing skin’s delicate microbiome to quickly and noticeably improve overall skin health, while letting your senses set sail with the sweet Jasmine aroma and the soft, emollient consistency.”
I love Earth Harbor products and what they stand for so I’m always happy to add these products to my collection too. I’ve not tried this one yet so it’s a perfect item to receive. Plus, I could really use help with improving my skin health and this actually should benefit my skin needs. The color of this oil is the most beautiful shade of blue and it smells so delightful too – like a soft fruity floral. It feels lightweight on my skin (back of hand testing) and seems to leave no greasy feeling either. It’s made with organic ingredients like green tea seed oil, squalane, watermelon oil, spirulina and blue tansy oil. These oils are all so nourishing and helpful for fussy skin – which I totally have. Looking forward to trying this one out!
From BuddhiBox July Box since it was late getting in last month’s mix (full box review here):
Every Body Yoga: Let Go of Fear, Get On the Mat, Love Your Body | Jessamyn Stanley ($16.95)
“The incredibly fun and funny author turns all ideas about westernized body perfection into heartfelt and sacred reflections on her own experience becoming body positive in the yoga world. We especially like the chart comparing ancient Yoga and modern western Yoga, the distinctions she makes are accessible and yet worthy of reflection. Great sequences included!”
How awesome to find such a wonderful resource in this month’s box! I love when books are included in subscription boxes, especially one like this that’s a resource and wealth of knowledge. Plus, there couldn’t be a better read to inspire courage with yoga. Sometimes yoga can feel out of reach or like only certain people can belong to it, so this is a great reminder that it’s for everyone and can be beneficial for anyone too. It seems like a super down to earth and witty approach to yoga that includes history, information and yoga pose suggestions too. I can’t wait to dive in to this read!
From BuddhiBox (full box review here):
Crescent Moon Pendant – Goddess Creations ($15)
“Sometimes you’ll see Ganesh lounging on a crescent moon on a statue or drawing. Why? Indian folklore tells us that it is because of Ganesh that the moon has been decreasing in size before the no moon day, and increasing till the full moon day! NOTE: remove before swimming or bathing.”
I love moon themed jewelry and I love simple jewelry so this couldn’t be a more perfect necklace for me! It’s interesting to learn the connection of the moon Ganesha too. I’ll have to do some research on that to learn more. In the meantime, I’m sure I’ll be wearing this necklace daily.
From Splendid Spoon (full box review here):
Green Split Pea
“Peas, please. Refreshing, light, and antioxidizing. TARRAGON Steadies sleep patterns, MINT Eases digestion, PEAS Satisfy your belly and stabilize blood sugar.”
The ingredient list includes: Water, Green Peas, Split Peas, Organic Carrots, Onions, Organic Celery, Lemon Juice, Extra Virgin Olive Oil, Parsley, Basil, Tarragon, Sea Salt, Mint
I really like this soup! But, I really like peas so it makes sense I suppose. I’ve never actually had split peas so this was fun to try. Split peas are really just green peas that have been dried before using in prepared dishes, but I think this makes them more similar to a bean (just my observation). This soup has creamier base, not too thick but not super thin either. It makes it feel hearty and filling, and that’s aside from the other hearty and filling ingredients. The whole peas and carrots provide a great textural variety from the smooth base. The whole peas themselves are soft, yet not mushy and are much like a cooked bean texture. Overall the flavor is mild, but still distinct and interesting. It certainly tastes like peas, but the tarragon, mint and other herbs give it such a fresh and almost cooling effect to the flavor. That makes it a perfect summer soup, even when served hot, but it would also make a great hearty winter soup too. I would definitely order this one again!

Organic Cotton Mesh Produce Bags
“A necessary classic to reduce plastic waste while grocery shopping! These cotton mesh produce bags by Lotus Bags are certified organic. There are three sizes for large, medium, and small hauls. Tare weight is on the tag to make it even easier to check out. Simply put them in the washing machine, hang to dry, and they will be good as new. Pack them all for your big grocery trips or keep one in your day bag for last minute fruit and veggie adventures.”
These are definitely a staple grocery shopping item. I have a handful of these already, but the design of these along with being made of organic cotton has made these an instant favorite. I love the wooden bead that makes them totally plastic free. They come in 3 sizes, are easily washable and are perfect for hauling fresh fruits and vegetables.
There’s my August Subscription Box Favorites round-up. Check back next month for more favorites! 🙂
