The best laid plans sometimes don’t come to fruition, as is with my plan to post this August subscription box favorites round up 3 weeks ago. Whoops! Here we are and it’s almost the end of September. Time is playing tricks on me! As I often say, better late than never though. I really had a fun month of deliveries for August and once again cannot go without sharing some of what arrived.
Overall, I’m hoping you like seeing the round-ups even if they are from past boxes. I figured it’s nice to see what types of things you can get if you subscribe, even if they aren’t available now. Plus I love highlighting the boxes and small businesses themselves. It’s always fun to discover new brands for yourself and even for gifting. You know that sneaky thing called time is going to go wizzing by and make it Christmas in like a week or so! So enjoy my round-up of inspiring goods and maybe start that shopping early!

From Nourish Beauty Box (full box review here):
Tamanu Oil Lab Tamanu Radiant Or Tamanu Pure ($38)
“Tamanu Radiant is a fast-absorbing oil blend made with tamanu, rosehip & ylang-ylang oils for a soft, glowing complexion, while Tamanu Pure contains a high-quality, cold-pressed, certified organic tamanu oil that is known for its extremely healing, rejuvenating, and moisturizing properties.”
Love this item! Out of the two options to receive I got the Tamanu Radiant. I’ve actually ordered and used the Tamanu Pure before and am out, so only slightly would have preferred that one, but I’m glad to try out the Radiant now too. Tamanu is so beneficial for skin healing and with the added benefits of rosehip and ylang ylang, Radiant is extra good for aging skin specifically as the ingredients work together to reduce fine lines, wrinkles and ages spots. All their products are made with high-quality, cold-pressed, certified organic Tamanu oil for maximum skin health. I’m sure I’ll be using this one a lot for face and body oil, maybe even more so for a body oil since it smells so nice!

ERESONANCE STRESS REDUCTION ESSENTIALS DECK ($22.66)
“These cards include healing techniques from 41 female artists who’ve channeled the gifts from their practices into beautiful art. Intuitively pick a card to expand your self-care routine & find peace within.”
I love this item! These cards are so cute and so full of great information. Each card has a description of a tool you could utilize for stress reduction (ie: yoga or crystals), a self care practice you can do to incorporate the tool and a question you can reflect or meditate on to gain further understanding. You just pull a card and follow the directions for increased self-care, which will in turn lead to less stress. I love that each card was designed by a different artist which not only supports a ton of independent artists, but makes the deck unique and beautiful. I will be using this item a lot – need all the stress reduction I can get!

Legendary Apothecary – Smooth Feet ($35)
“This old world treatment transforms feet from dry and cracked to smooth, soft and hydrated. Use to treat cracked heels, dryness, calluses and corns. Massage 1 full dropper onto the bottom of each foot before bed for 7-10 days or as needed. Profits help support human, animal and environmental efforts.”
This item is most intriguing to me! I’ve tried a lot of products in my day but not a smoothing food oil yet. I’m so curious how this works and what results could come of it. It sounds super easy to use by just apply the oil to feet at night which can be a great bedtime ritual in itself. I also love anything lavender and the scent itself is super soothing to fall asleep to so I can see this becoming part of my before bed routine for sure.

“Made with premium California Almonds, we love using this in an almond-butter sandwich or added to smoothies.”
I’ve been looking for a simple protein powder and this one is as simple as it gets! It’s just made with 1 simple ingredinet- almonds and has 17g of protein per serving. This will be great to add to smoothies for an extra protein punch.

“These BPA free, reusable ziplock bags are the smarter way to pack sandwiches, snacks & even your toiletries.Made of platinum, food-grade silicone, they are nontoxic, odorless & leakproof. Microwave safe, oven safe, dishwasher safe & freeze safe. Comes in 2 sizes.”
I’m obsessed with these reusable bags and use them about every day so I’m so glad to have a couple more to add to my stash. They are so handy for packing lunches and snacks or for storing food in the fridge too. I know using this type of bag has really saved a ton of plastic for our family over the time we’ve used them. These are a household essential!

Travel Flower Press, Impressed By Nature, California
This is so fun! I’ve pressed a few plants in the past and it’s aways fun to see how they turn out after waiting until they dry. I’ve also seen such beautiful art done with the pressed flowers that I’ve wanted to experiment with too. This will be a great tool to use, not only for getting outside, but also getting creative.
From Earthlove Summer Box (full box review here):
UPCYCLED SARI KIMONO Guru ($110)
“Who says sustainable fashion has to be boring? These airy and stylish upcycled sari kimonos are perfect for a trip to the beach or relaxing in the summer sun! Each one is uniquely hand designed by Canadian Guru founder Kathryn Boese and handcrafted from upcycled fair trade Ragsulla saris (most made from bamboo viscose or “art silk” – artificial silk) that have been collected by bartering with Indian villages. Note: Since the saris have history, they may also have minor imperfections that are camouflaged in the beauty of the design. Designs are one of a kind and will vary.”
Ok, now this is such a unique and beautiful item! I’ve not ever received something so interesting and one-of-a-kind in a subscription box before. When I heard this was one of the items in the summer box I couldn’t wait to get mine to see what unique and colorful fabric combination mine would have. I have to say, I love the bright and vibrant colors mine ended up with. The jade and mustard with pops of pink is just so beautiful (and trendy really). I love that it’s flowy and loose, but also has a belt (with cute little tassels) to cinch it in or keep the front closed when using as a robe (as apposed to using as more of a jacket). It’s use is so versatile and I appreciate that there are pockets of course too. And I love that it’s made from up-cycled fabric, you’d never guess. Oh, I just love this item and can’t wait to wear it around. Maybe for morning tea on the patio, as a cute accessory over a tank top or even as a swimsuit cover up – it’s going to feel so fancy!
From Maple Box (full box review here):
SOMERSET MOSS FACIAL MIST, 50ML ($38)
“The second feature from our friends at Somerset Moss, since you all loved their last product with us. This facial mist is fantastic because it’s truly filled with active ingredients. Infused with essential oils like Jasmine and Cedarwood, it contains moistureboosting hyaluronic acid, White Willow bark (which contains salicylic acid and perfect for healing any congestion), as well as Maca root to brighten and replenish dull thirsty skin. After cleansing, apply with a cotton pad to achieve an effective doublecleanse with benefits. Made in British Columbia.”
What a beautiful face mist! The packaging is just so lovely with the gold florals and the mist itself is surely a skin treat. It smells amazing, top notes of jasmine, but then rounded undertones of warm, bright and grounding earthy herbal scents. It’s really a comforting aroma. The scent along with it’s skin-nourishing benefits will surely make this a great addition to my skincare routine. I wasn’t reviewing the box when they sent the other product from this line, but am now so curious to check it out too. In the meantime I cannot wait to try this one out!
And another from Maple Box because I couldn’t decide:
DEEP IN THE TREES SOAP X MAPLE, ROSEMARY LAVENDER AND LEMON, 8OZ BAR ($14)
“Made by a boutique soap maker based “deep in the trees” near Athabaska, Alberta. They’ve been handmaking and curing soap for over 20 years. The owner, Karen, creates all bath products made only from local ingredients. If local ingredients are not available, she grows them with filtered rainwater in the summer months. She spends countless hours at her cauldron-her creative process consists of free pouring essential oils until it smells just right. This particular, extra large bar was made exclusively for Maple, in a base of jojoba and coconut oils, scented with pure essential oils of rosemary, lavender and lemon. We love the exfoliating texture, too, for that extra fresh feel. Handmade in Ghost Lake, Alberta.”
I love handmade soaps so much so I get really excited when they are included in boxes. This soap smells amazing and, wow, it’s size is amazing! It’s really large for a soap bar which makes it feel kind of fancy and luxurious. The packaging is so cute I didn’t open it up yet to see what the soap actually looks like, but it really does smell so good. Exactly like a fresh, crisp and sweet forest. I can’t think of a better way to wake up in the morning shower!
From Merkaela Summer Box (full box review here):
GOLDEN LIQUID BODY OIL PALMAROSA ($48.00)
“Beneficial to all skin types promoting skin hydration and new cell growth. Apply to the face and body to improve problematic skin. Use the golden liquid on stretch marks, acne, blemishes, promoting cell repair, dry skin, keeping infections at bay, mild burns, eczema flare-ups, sunburn, rashes, bruises, and insect bites. The Calendula herbal extract-infused oils such as Jojoba, and Moringa; will further deepen your botanical experience. Providing the body with hydrating nourishment and essential nutrients it craves at the deepest levels.”
Oh my, this body oil smells good! I didn’t know I loved the palmarosa aroma so much, but I just cannot stop smelling this oil. It smells floral, but earthy and crisp, a very unique scent. I keep thinking of a desert flower when I smell it, not sure why, but maybe that helps describe it? Anyway, I love body oils and this has fast become my new favorite and the ‘Golden Hour’ name is just made for these warm late summer days. I will be applying this daily until the last drop I’m sure.
From See New Skincare Box (full box review here):
Forest Rhapsody Green Nectar – Marine Hydrator ($64)
“Results: Hydrate// Sooth// Plump. Liquid silk provides the most intensive and gratifying hydration for thirsty skin cells. It quenches and nourishes deeply, mirroring the ambrosial nectar that sustains life in the lush forest. A wonderful team player, Green Nectar can be layered with other mists, serums, moisturizers and oils to create multiple layers of light hydration, plumping and invigorating your skin. This marine extracts-infused hydrator absorbs like a dream, cushioning your skin in an ocean of moisture.”
I love that the blurb up there says this gives your skin an ocean of moisture – what a depictive description that makes me want to try this one out right away. I’m an ocean lover, so anything that mentions it draws me in immediately. Then of course the overall benefits and ingredients make this sound like a real skin treat. It’s a super hydrator for dry or lackluster skin made with things like aloe, kelp and floral extracts. It’s texture is so light and it smells so good, maybe like a citrus floral mix, or like flowers you’d find near the beach on warm day? Whatever it is, I like the scent a lot. My skin needs this one for sure so I can’t wait to see how it performs.
