I love so much about this subscription box from the products themselves that are made consciously and look and smell amazing, to the incredible value and ability to try several of their products at once for less. Of course with their sustainability practices are awesome too. For one, they ship in eco-friendly packaging thats recyclable. They also offer a zero waste refill program where you can save 40% on refills and they plant a tree with every order to offset carbon emissions, plus they donate 1% of profits to help protect the oceans.
You’ll find over $150 worth of products inside for just $49.97 with free shipping. If you subscribe to the monthly beauty box you can save an additional 10% off too. Inside there are some full sized items and some trial sized. Some of the items are special limited edition or single run while others are from their available product line, and then others are even from different highlighted brands all-together. It’s fun to be able to try those limited products while also hoping to find a staple fave or a new brand too!
Here’s a look at what’s in this month’s box ($155 total value):
The Other Skincare Company Travel Kit (Retail value of $49.00)
This kit includes a zippered travel pouch with these 4 travel sized products. Their packaging is beautiful packaged in beautiful white glass bottles:
KEEP CALM Oil-to-milk Cleanser
Formulated especially for people with dehydrated, blemish prone skin and skin that might have a degree of barrier damage and inflammation. Our cutting edge formula combines a blend of deep cleansing oils, exfoliating enzymes and skin strengthening ceramides. It draws impurities and excess oil build up out of the pores along with balancing the skin sebum production.
This sounds like a lovely cleanser! I generally don’t do oil cleansers, but I actually have enjoyed some of the oil to milk cleansers I’ve tried before so I’m really curious about this one. It’s great that it’s made for acne prone skin since that’s one of my skin concerns. I like that it also exfoliates and is a lightweight formula that smells really nice- like blue tansy (which I can never figure out how to describe).
FLORA Micellar Water
FLORA micellar water is a 3 in 1 product capable of cleansing, toning and hydrating the skin at the same time using 100% natural plant actives, hydrosols and Natural Moisturizing Factor ingredients (NMF). It conditions, soothes and hydrates the skin with the use of Colloidal oat, Jojoba extract and Bamboo Bio Water Ferment.
This sounds like a nice and light cleanser. I also usually shy away from micellar cleansers, mostly because I like the act of rinsing, but this could be refreshing. It smells really nice, like rose, but well rounded with the addition of neroli. I’d likely use this as more of a toner, which is says is a good use too.
PLANT VOODOO Serum Concentrate
This powerful dry oil concentrate is the ultimate breakout neutralizer. Formulated with potent plant derived anti-bacterial, anti-inflammatory and skin-identical ingredients. It is designed for dehydrated skin prone to congestion, hormonal fluctuations, break outs and inflammation and will support the skin’s barrier and immune system.
This serum has bakuchiol in it which is the natural retinol alternative. I haven’t tried this ingredient in skincare before and have been curious so I’m intrigued to see how this serum works. It looks and feels like an oil and has a nice, almost buttery, herbal aroma. I look forward to seeing if this can reduce some of the hormonal acne I’ve been experiencing.
PHANTOM Spray Moisturizer
Formulated for dehydrated, blemish prone skin this ultralight spray moisturizer disappears in your skin giving it the needed hydration without aggravating excising breakouts. The result is a silky, smooth and supple skin.
This product sounds so nice and perfect for my skin! I have dry but also acne prone skin so I like that this is a light alternative to a moisturizer. It’s made with “skin-identical” ingredients like hyaluronic acid, ceramides and essential fatty acids along with plant proteins and extracts for calming and brightening skin.
Ziena Organics Organic, Non-GMO Hand Sanitizer (Retail value $8.00)
The Ziena Organics Soft Hand Sanitizer is free from parabens, phthalates, preservatives, and other harsh ingredients. It won’t dry out or irritate your skin in any way. It’s antimicrobial and effective on 99.9% of harmful bacteria and germs on your skin as it contains 70% alcohol. This is certainly a handy product to receive. I use hand sanitizer fairly often and I like to have a bottle this size to keep in my diaper bag. This one is great since it’s organic, contains super simple ingredients, doesn’t feel drying and is unscented so is great for sensitive skin and noses.
Ziena Organics Organic Bitter Orange Exfoliating Handmade Organic Soap (Retail value $8.00)
This natural and vegan exfoliant soap made with essential oil of Petit Grain Bigarade will soothes the body and calms the mind. It’s 100% hand made with coconut butter, cocoa butter, sweet almond oil and shea butter. I love handmade soaps so any time one is included in a subscription box I get excited! This one sounds so nice and skin-soothing and has a pleasant, light aroma, plus I love that it helps gently exfoliate.
Coco Citrus Noir Purifying Cleanser (Retails for $30.00)
This cleanser is formulated to help skin feel fresh and hydrated as it balances the skin’s pH while cleansing. It’s made with activated charcoal and organic citrus oils which reduce the appearance of scaring and sun damage, along with vitamin C which helps to brighten skin. I love the cheery and uplifting citrus scent. It’s perfect for waking your skin up in the morning. I actually received this item in the last box of theirs that I reviewed, but it’s perfect to have a backup for when I run out of the original.
Pineapple Paradiso Glow Mask (Retails for $30.00)
This face mask gently exfoliates, reduces oil, fights acne, and hydrates skin. It’s made with pineapple & papaya enzymes to gently exfoliate skin and get skin glowing. It smells SO amazing, just like a pina colada. Lots of tropical-vacation vibes. I want to try this out right away since it smells so good. I’ve been really focused on finding gentle ways of exfoliating my skin and trying to avoid physical exfoliants, so this mask comes at the perfect time.
Radiant Sunflower Serum Retinol Cream (Retails for $9.00)
This is their premium age-defying serum formulated for smoother, younger-looking skin. The research-proven formula contains retinol, peptides and hyaluronic acids to help renew collagen, reduce appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, hydrate skin and heal sun-damage to reveal radiant skin. I don’t use a retinol product right now, but it’s been suggested by an esthetician so this could be a great product to try out between facials.
Mini Dolce Vanilla Collagen Moisturizer (Retails for $7.00)
This moisturizer is a repairing and hydrating cream to soothe and soften skin on the face and neck giving it a youthful glow along with helping to protecting skin from the elements. It’s best for dry, combo and mature skin and is not recommended for very acne prone skin. This is another product I actually received in the last box I reviewed and since I have acne prone skin making it not as suitable for my skin, I’ll use it as a hand or body moisturizer like I did before because this smells so good. It’s a vanilla lavender aroma, calming and subtly sweet.
Final thoughts:
Another absolutely lovely Bella Vida Santa Barbara Box for July! I reviewed their April box (which you can read here) and just like then, I’ve found this box to be packed with fun and interesting products to try with an overall incredible value.
I love that this this month’s box incorporated a few products from other brands for even more product discovery. I’d never heard of either brand which is my favorite. It’s fun to be surprised with new things you would have otherwise never heard of. Of course the house products included in this month’s box are fantastic too. Even though a few of the products are repeats, I think it’s actually really great as it’s about the time for a refill anyways. I’m really intrigued to try the mask and experiment with the retinol cream too. I’m excited to watch this box grow and see what other fun curations of items they put together for the future!
