Birchbox - Clean Beauty Limited Edition Box

I feel like Birchbox is one of the OG beauty boxes but I’ve never once purchased one. Partially because when it originally came out I had next to zero extra funds to get a subscription and partially because now the items in the monthly box aren’t necessarily products I would consider using. But I recently saw they had this special Clean Beauty Limited Edition box and it was too good of a deal to pass up. The value of the box is $219 and comes with 10 full size items, 1 travel size item and a rose quartz face roller. The cost for the box is $55 but if you sign up for emails you can get a little bit of a discount even on that price (I think was 15% or something, don’t quote me on that though).

It’s a great box to get as an intro to clean beauty because it covers almost all the basics. There’s makeup, skincare, haircare and body care. The only things it’s missing are something like foundation or concealer (which would just be too hard with shade matching), and a shampoo/conditioner which is also pretty particular based on your hair type so your on your own for those ones.

DERMA E Purifying 2-in-1 Charcoal Mask – Full-size ($19.50)
- This is a quick and effective mask you can leave on for just 5 minutes to help remove buildup and toxins that have settled on the skin throughout the day. Natural kaolin and bentonite clays along with apricot seed powder and charcoal help reduce congestion for a clearer complexion. I’m all about anything that is quick and easy when it comes to my skin these days so I’m looking forward to trying this mask.
Acure Seriously Soothing™ Micellar Water Cleansing Towelettes – Full-size ($6.99)
- These are ultra convenient and very gentle. They are made with micellar water which is said to attract dirt and oil and sweep it away. They also contain rose water and aloe to soothe and refresh skin. They are great for cleansing on the go. I have actually been using these a lot lately as I have an infant and face washing has been taking a backseat so these are really helpful. They really do leave my skin feeling clean and don’t leave it feeling dry. Admittedly they are not the most environmentally friendly since they are single use and don’t mention being biodegradable, but when you don’t have the time they are a lifesaver.
HAN Skin Care Cosmetics All Natural Eye Shadow – Celebrate – Full-size ($15)
- This eyeshadow is made with 100% natural ingredients including rice powder to give it a silky smooth texture. The color is the perfect shimmery beige neutral that’s made up of pigments from vitamins and plants. This color is actually really similar to the color of eyeshadow I would normally wear day-to-day so I will get a lot of use out of this one.
Eir NYC Simple Lips – Full-size ($5)
- This is a simple yet effective lip balm that’s made with just 3 ingredients: organic coconut oil, organic shea butter, and beeswax. I can always use more chapstick so this will be a great addition to my purse.
COOLA® Mineral Sunscreen Matte Finish SPF 30 – Cucumber – Full-size ($36)
- This sunscreen doubles as a primer and can be used under makeup or alone. It really could be used as a light moisturizer too if your skin isn’t too dry as it’s formulated with organic shea butter and other nourishing oils. It’s great for those with oily or breakout prone skin as it helps keep excess oil at bay. I tend to have an oilier face and often avoid applying sunscreen as an extra product but this one seems like it could help solve all my problems so I look forward to trying it out.
W3LL PEOPLE Expressionist Mascara – Full-size ($21.99)
- This all-natural mascara will help lift, separate and volumize lashes with a few swipes. It’s made with nutrient-rich ingredients so it will nourish lashes at the same time. I’m always on the hunt for the best natural mascara and I haven’t tried this one yet so I’m glad it was included. It has tons of great reviews so I imagine it will be a hit!
rms beauty™ wild with desire lipstick – Temptation – Full-size ($28)
- This lipstick is the perfect anytime color. It’s a neutral pinky-mauve color that is ultra-pigmented and made with hydrating oils so lips don’t get dry.
Olio E Osso Lustero Body Oil – Travel-size (Full size is $60)
- I love a good body oil to keep dry skin hydrated and this one will do just that. It’s made with several moisturizing oils such as grapeseed, olive fruit and bergamot fruit peel. It has a hint of gold shimmer that you can shake into the oil for an extra glowy effect. It smells amazing and grounding from the addition of patchouli and cedarwood oils.
jane iredale PureBrow® Brow Gel – Clear – Full-size ($21)
- This is a versatile brow product that will work with any brow color. It won’t fill in or enhance brows that need a little oomph since it’s clear, but it will help to tame any unruliness and keep things in place. I tend to like to fill things in a little so I would likely not use this product on it’s own but could see it being useful after using a brow powder or gel as a finishing touch.
Briogeo Rosarco Milk™ Reparative Leave-In Conditioning Spray – Full-size ($20)
- This leave-in conditioner is lightweight yet hydrating and will help detangle and tame frizzy locks. It acts as a heat protectant too so is good to use before styling. It’s made with rosehip, argan, and coconut oils to moisturize hair and help it restore strength. I’ve used this product before and really like it’s detangling abilities, plus it smells great. The only thing I don’t love about it is that the wonderful scent it has is partially due to added fragrance which I generally try to avoid in products but I will likely still use this one because it performs so well.
milk + honey Regular Strength Deodorant – No. 09 Lavender + Tea Tree – Full-size ($20)
- I had been really curious to try this product before so it was one of the first product that caught my eye in this box. It’s made with completely natural ingredients and is scented with lavender and tea tree giving it a clean and refreshing aroma.
Birchbox Rose Quartz Face Roller – Full-size ($20)
- Face rollers are great for applying facial oils or calming and soothing skin. It feels especially refreshing to use after cleansing, it’s like a little massage. This roller is particularly pretty since it’s pink and made with rose quartz, which happens to be the stone of love- perfect for self care!
