Happy New Year friends! I’m here with the first 7 Things Sunday of 2020! I hope you all had a nice holiday and are adjusting well to the new decade. The holidays were nuts for me with traveling, celebrating, planning and throwing a 1 year old birthday party. I’m pooped to say the least. So I’ve been taking it as easy as possible since. I did get the Christmas decorations put away, but the baby’s party decor? Ya, that might (will) be up for a few more weeks. I always get sad when the decorations get put away so I’m […]
Seven Things Sunday – vol.2
Hey friends! It’s Sunday again and we are less than 2 weeks out from Thanksgiving – how!?! I’m hosting a small get together this year so I’ve been trying to menu plan this weekend. Trying to be ahead of the game instead of last-minuting it ya know. My must-haves are green bean casserole and pumpkin pie. I really could do without the turkey, haha, but it doesn’t really feel like Thanksgiving without it so I guess we’ll have that too. What are your must-haves and are you hosting this year? I’d love to know! Here’s this weeks Sunday 7: 1 […]
Seven Things Sunday – vol.1
Switching up my regular Sunday post over here because, well the old one was becoming not that regular. If you read the last one, you’ll have seen that while I love to read and consume info and stories from articles around the web, my time to do so has dwindled so I don’t often have that many to share. So from now one I’m going to do a little quick-fire check-in each week of what I’ve been up to, what I’ve discovered and what I’ve been loving. This week flew by in the blink of an eye. My baby girl […]
The Sunday Scoop #19
It’s been a hot minute since I checked in with my weekly Sunday Scoop. Life, man. For now it’s likely going to be a monthly-ish scoop round up instead of my overly ambitious weekly scoop post. I’ve still been reading interesting things when I can, but my frivolous free time has felt more limited lately. I’ve been trying to enjoy the weather and get outside more, especially since fall is bringing the colder weather, and that means the phone gets set aside. That’s a bit of a lie, what I should have said is that the article reading part of […]
The Sunday Scoop #18
Just checking in to say happy Sunday with a few reads to keep you feeling sunny. I feel like so much of the news lately is negative so I decided to just include positive and helpful reads this weekend. I know that the negative news is important but I for one need a break from processing it sometimes and things like chickens in tutus (see link below) takes my mind off of it pretty well. In fact it puts my mind on planning how I could get myself a chicken and where it would live, what it’s name would be, […]
The Sunday Scoop #18
Yesterday was my half birthday! So I celebrated by getting myself these flowers. I think I should also get myself a half present and at least a half a cake too haha. Does anyone celebrate half birthdays??? I hadn’t put too much thought into it before except for noting the date and telling my husband as if to hint I needed that half a cake, but alas that hasn’t happened yet. However, my daughter was recently born on New Year’s eve so since her birthday is on a big holiday and near another big holiday and since I don’t want […]
The Sunday Scoop #17
Happy Mother’s Day everyone! It’s my first official time celebrating the holiday and I couldn’t be more excited, although during fertility treatments I still tried to celebrate for three reasons: one, because over the course of the years trying I had indeed mothered two babies that never made it earth-side and I felt my effort and grief deserved to be celebrated, two, because I believed that although I wasn’t physically a mother yet, the act of working so hard to get there made me one even more so and three, if I didn’t try to make the day joyful than […]
The Sunday Scoop #16
Hooray it’s May! The flowers are blooming, the grass is turning green again, the trees are budding leaves and the bunny rabbits are back to inhabiting my backyard – that part’s not so great since they keep killing my grass, but they sure are cute so they can stay for now. *Adding to my list of green alternative searches: rabbit repellant. HA. Anyway, spring just makes me so happy with all the rebirth going on. It’s a living reminder that things change for the good and often get better when we think they won’t. It’s a reminder to listen to […]
The Sunday Scoop #15 – NIAW Special Edition
Hey friends! National Infertility Awareness Week starts today and I’m kicking it off by rebooting my weekly Sunday Scoop posts with a special edition dedicated to Infertility. It’s an important week for me as I was diagnosed with infertility and subsequently went through infertility treatments to conceive my daughter so raising awareness has always been close to my heart. I know from experience that when more people understood what I was going through it was really helpful so if you know someone struggling read up and offer your support! I’ve been collecting articles related to infertility over the last several […]
The Sunday Scoop #14
Hey, hey, hey! It’s Father’s Day! Sending happy Father’s Day wishes to all the fathers out there, and especially those longing to be fathers, those who’ve lost their fathers, those who are dog fathers and anyone else who want’s father’s day wishes! Like mother’s day, I think those other than current father’s can be forgotten and maybe even more so for this men’s holiday. You know, because men aren’t supposed to have feelings and care about a little holiday, right? Wrong! It can be a tough day for many people, a reminder of what they don’t have or what they’ve […]
