May is such a lovely spring month isn’t it?! All the flowers, all the sunshine and well, all the awesome spring-y subscription boxes too of course! Everything sent in the May subscription boxes I reviewed was bright and cheery, perfect to help transition to the summer months. From bold fruity aromas and sunny colors, to relaxing summer-breeze-like products and products meant for summer skin. Each month I think the boxes I review can’t get any better and they always do. They keep discovering and sending new and innovative green/clean/sustainable products to showcase and inspire. That’s why I enjoy reviewing boxes so much, it’s the discovery process and testing out all kinds of new things, plus of course sharing about small businesses. It’s just my favorite! Anyway, lots of good things this month! Check the highlights out below.
As usual, I’ve picked an item to highlight from each subscription box review I’ve done in the last month so you can get a taste for what comes in each. Cleban & Daughters Electra Energetic Mist
I love this product! It’s an energizing toner for the skin and senses. It has awesome ingredients like hyaluronic acid and niacinimide to take care of the skin and an incredible aroma to lift your mood and energy. It smells like an herbal, floral mix with a hint of peppermint – so good! I cannot wait to try this out as a morning face mist and see if it helps my skin and my mood.

LastObject LastSwab ($12)
“Show Mama Gaia your love by replacing single-use cotton swabs with this cute reusable option. Its plant-based carrying case makes it perfect for your travels & outdoor adventures.”
This product is so cool! I actually have one already but it’s not bad to have a backup for another purse or bag. I won’t say it totally replaces the cotton version, but it is super handy and definitely cuts down on waste. It’s fitting to include an earth-friendly product like this in this month’s Earth Magic box.

Tropicgyal Naturals Scalp Treatment
I love finding a haircare item in this month’s box since that’s more rare to receive. It’s a unique item that’s an oil (made with black seed, tamanu and cranberry seed oils) that’s to be applied to the scalp to help promote healthy hair growth and heal scalp issues like dandruff and dry skin. I’m really intrigued to try this one out, I’d love if it helped with hair growth like it says!

WOMAN-FOUNDED: Byte Bars
“Casey Nunnelly & Sabina Rizzo started Byte Bars when they couldn’t find a satisfying snack that could keep up with their busy, athletic lifestyles. They tested the first iterations of these bars on the ski slopes of Colorado with their friends, and it’s paid off: These are the cleanest, best-tasting energy bars we’ve tried in a while.”
This looks so tasty! And the packaging is so fun and eye-catching it really drew me in right away. Then it says it’s a gluten free peanut butter chocolate chip bar? All the good things – yummo! And while it sounds and looks just like a treat, it’s actually got some healthy ingredients too like almonds, coconut, MCT oil, gluten free oats and date paste for sweetness instead of sugar. I’m sure this will be a favorite.
From Kinder Beauty (full box review here):
Dirty Lamb: Copaiba Body Serum ($48)
“During a time of year when you are outside enjoying the gorgeous spring weather, the extra sun exposure is bound to leave your skin thirsty. Dirty Lamb’s Copaiba Body Serum is made from pure copaiba oil that is steam-distilled from the resin of the copaiba tree. The oil itself promotes wound-healing and pain-relief and is nutrient-dense with antioxidants, vitamins, and omega fatty acids.”
Well this smells amazing! I love body oils and this one is a fast favorite. It’s smells almost like a lilac tree, or just some other lovely abundantly floral plant – very spring-y! It’s made with of course copaiba oil, but also lavender, rosemary, orange and clary sage oils. It’s lightweight and feels nice once applied. I really like that it’s made to soothe and take care of skin. I’ll be using this all summer long for sure!
From Essentials Crate (full box review here):
Organic Honey BEE SEASONAL ($6)
“This Brazilian honey is 100% pure raw, non-GMO, unfiltered, unpasteurized & USDA certified organic and certified kosher honey. Comes in two flavors: Silvestre wildflower & Angico Blossom. Use on your next cheeseboard or acai bowl creation.”
This honey looks so delicious and fancy! I thing I’ve actually eyed this brand before and have wanted to try it so I’m happy to find it in this month’s box. It’s a great item to pair with all kinds of finds from a farmer’s market trip. I love using honey for all my sweetener needs so I will be digging right into this one.
From Merkaela Box (full box review here):
Herbal Milk Salt Bath ($14.00)
“Treat yourself to a luxurious Herbal Milk bath that will leave your skin feeling soft and supple. Formulated with herbal botanicals that work to heal and nourish the skin. The mineral-rich nutrients such as magnesium, calcium, and iron, combine to make a natural detoxifier that aligns the energy centers. Relax as you melt the stress away, conquer aching muscles, and soothe the skin.”
Oh my! This smells so good I want to go take a bath right now! It has a rich and soft, almost creamy aroma with hints of bright florals too. It’s made with essential oils of ylang ylang and vanilla so that would make sense. It includes skin nourishing ingredients like coconut milk, comfrey, oats and calendula along with salts like sea and epsom to gently detox.
There you have it for my May subscription box favorites round-up. Check back next month for more subscription box fun and favorites! 🙂
