October Subscription Box Favorites

October subscription box favorites group

Welp, I guess belated posting of my favorites from the past month is just going to be the norm for now ha. I’ve finally gotten around to pulling together my October subscription box favorites just in time for my December reviews to start posting. BUT, I still think it’s worth sharing since some of the boxes I got last month are the quarterly boxes that won’t be showing up on this next month’s round up. Plus, I also reviewed an extra fun box that I won (it’s Lady Box!) that I’ve included with a favorite on this list too. And really all the boxes were just super fun! October sure was a busy month with tons of great subscription boxes, the Halloween festivities, fall pumpkin-patching and the beginnings of holiday prep, and now I swear Christmas is like tomorrow. Eeek! Gotta get gathering gifts! Perhaps this list of amazing items will give you inspiration for that or convince you that sub boxes are the best gifts too! See all my October faves below:

As usual, I’ve picked an item to highlight from each subscription box review I’ve done in the last month so you can get a taste for what comes in each. Be sure to click the link to get the full box reviews so you can get the complete details too! Many are linked over to A Year of Boxes where you can find discount codes and more if you’re interested in subscribing.

Love Song Beauty Invisible Dry Shampoo Gel

From Nourish Beauty Box (full box review here):
Love Song Beauty Invisible Dry Shampoo Gel ($36)

“Flawlessly refreshes roots without any powdery residue and is made with wakame & green tea extracts to cleanse, protect and rebalance..”

Yay! I actually just bought their other product, the leave-in serum, but was also so curious about this product so I’m excited to find it in this month’s box. It’s such a unique product that’s not like any other dry shampoos. It’s a gel like consistency that drys and says it magically refreshes hair. It smells nice, a little fruity and sweet and would be nice aroma for your hair. Can’t wait to test this one out!

Coal Miner's Daughter Prosperity Anointing Oil

From Goddess Provisions Box (full box review here):
Coal Miner’s Daughter Prosperity Anointing Oil ($18)

“During your divination rituals anoint your third eye, spell candles & sacred objects with this magical oil. Tune in & listen for Spirit to reveal how abundance is flowing your way.”

This is such a pretty oil with it’s gold shimmer inside! It’s kind of hard to see from the pics, but the golden oil has tiny shimmers added for extra glow and sparkle. It has a super interesting and grounding aroma, almost a bit like musk, but I can also note the brightness of the orange peel oil coming through. It’s magical look and mysterious aroma would certainly make it a good pair for rituals invoking insight.

J & L Strength Hair Serum

From Vegancuts Beauty Box June (full box review here):
J & L Strength Hair Serum

I’ve tried a few other products from this brand and have enjoyed them so I’m happy to find this hair serum in this month’s box. Especially since this is one of their products I haven’t tried yet. It’s a lightweight oil with a simple ingredient list. It has not scent which makes it nice to apply especially for those with sensitive noses. I’ve tried hair oils in the past and found them a bit heavy for my fine hair so I’m curious to try this out and compare it.

Love + Chew The Superfood Cookie

From Vegancuts Snack Box June (full box review here):
Love + Chew The Superfood Cookie

I’ve spied these cookies before and have been curious to try them out so I’m glad to find this item in the box. First, the flavor sounds really good – I love banana bread. Second, it has a really simple and healthy ingredient list. I’m so intrigued to see how this healthy version of banana bread compares to the real thing. It could be a great replacement for the craving.

Gratitude Gold Foiled Journal TRES PAPER CO

From Essentials Crate (full box review here):
Gratitude Gold Foiled Journal TRES PAPER CO ($17)

“Designed on sustainably sourced paper, this journal comes with 100 guided pages to reflect, record your thoughts and remind yourself what you are grateful for each day.”

I’ve long known gratitude as being an important aspect of my day for health and I’ve tried journaling it before too. Never in a journal this pretty or convenient though so maybe it will help me be more successful! I love the simple, neutral design on the cover with the gold foil accent. The pages inside are intuitive and easy to use. I love having the prompts of listing 3 things your grateful for, thoughts and reflections for the day and intentions for the next day. It also has a “gratitude jar” page every 10 days for reflecting on the previous 10 days. In the beginning of the journal it also has a list of gratitude prompts, positive affirmations and a place to write a letter to yourself as you start the journey. I think this would be the perfect tool for a new years resolution!

Strawberry Honey Lip Scrub, Wicked Soaps Co

From Wildflower Club (full box review here):
Strawberry Honey Lip Scrub, Wicked Soaps Co, Michigan

Oh wow! This lip scrub smells so good I could eat it! It smells exactly like fresh strawberries. I don’t know how they did that?! But I’m certainly looking forward to using it. I love lip scrubs and like that this one is made with simple, natural ingredients including raw honey and organic strawberry powder. My lips are going to love this one!

MICROGREENS KIT Urban Leaf

From Earthlove Box (full box review here):
MICROGREENS KIT Urban Leaf ($45)

“Packed with healthy vitamins and nutrients, these kits are a great way to incorporate more healthy greens all year round! Each kit is made in the USA from biodegradable and compostable materials and includes four USDA organic seed packets for easy growing. Perfect for both beginner and seasoned growers, these microgreens can grow in low light or a sunny location and it only takes seven days to start harvesting sprouts. The bamboo fiber trays and 100% organic grow mats create a self-watering hydroponic system so you can take the stress out of remembering to water too! The kit includes enough seeds for twelve harvests. Great for smoothies, sandwiches, salads, and more!”

What a fun item! I’ve never received anything like this in a subscription box before so this is unique and exciting to try out. I’ve actually not ever really got into eating micro greens, but have thought about it since I’ve read they house a lot of nutrients. This will be the perfect way to try them out and will make a fun project I can do with my little one. It contains everything you need to get the micro greens growing and the kit is made from sustainable materials too which is a great bonus. Of course, this kit is also a great way to continue gardening into the winter too since you can do it inside. Looking forward to trying this one out!

Mindfulness Multi-Stone Bracelet

From The Manifestation Box (full box review here):
Mindfulness Multi-Stone Bracelet ($29 value)

Each month a handcrafted gemstone bracelet is included. It’s personalized to your wrist size and made with carefully picked healing crystals based on the energies in the Universe to assist your practice. This month the bracelet inspired by “Healthy Habits” is made with lapis lazul and citrine.

The information cards shared that: “Lapis Lazuli is a symbol of truth, as it brought you to see yourself for what you really are, and at the same time helps you to accept those parts of yourself that you may see as undesirable. Lapis is very well known for its purifying and healing abilities. On the elemental side, Lapis Lazuli is known as the water stone” and also, “Citrine is said to be a gift from the sun and it’s believed to be a healing gemstone. Citrine brings happiness, joy and optimism into your life.” I can obviously see why lapis lazul was chosen since it encourages acknowledging your truth and finding acceptance in that (which includes appearance). I also enjoy the pairing of it with the citrine since it’s a healing, uplifting and optimism producing stone. The two stones paired together provide support and a positive, happy outlook for any healing journey, plus they look beautiful together too. A great reminder to wear daily!

Dirty Lamb Rose Petal Toner

From See New Skincare (full box review here):
Dirty Lamb Rose Petal Toner ($38)

“Created by distilling rose petals this is more than just a hydrating facial mist. Aloe Vera moisturizes & soothes irritated/dry skin. The luxurious aroma of rose petals will decrease anxiety & stress making every day more enjoyable. Witch hazel minimizes pore size, controls oil production to balance sebum production.”

I generally only use rose water based toners so this one is right up my alley. It’s only made with rose water, aloe vera, witch hazel and water – all the good things a toner needs. It smells so lovely, like just the right amount of rose petals and has a pretty rose/peach hue. I’ll be getting a lot of use out of this one too.

J&L Naturals Face Salve

From greenUP Box (full box review here):
J&L Naturals Face Salve ($16.99)

“Personal care products are a BIG contributor to plastic waste, and swaps are almost impossible to find. Meet our favorite family-run small business handmaking zerowaste personal care. Vegan, 100% natural, cruelty-free, preservative-free, and in fully compostable packaging. Gently apply a very thin coat to damp skin 1-2 times a day. If skin feels too oily, blot with towel.”

I love the packaging on this face salve. It’s hard to find face products that are plastic free so this cardboard tube is a refreshing twist – it’s completely plastic free. I’ve gotten a small handful of this brand’s products before, but not this one so I’m glad to have it to try out. I love the simple ingredients and it smells so calming and grounding, just as the name suggests. It’s application would be a great way to end the day. It might be a bit of a richer salve than I normally apply to my face, but if it doesn’t agree with my skin I could totally see using this for other skin purposes like my hands. Love that it could be multi-purpose, extra eco-friendly!

Hibiscus Lip Scrub by The Good Hippie

From Lady Box (full box review here):
Hibiscus Lip Scrub by The Good Hippie

“Whether you want kissable or just healthier looking lips, this gentle exfoliating blend of sugar, nourishing botanical oils, hibiscus, and rose helps provide softer and smoother lips. The ingredients also offer antiinflammatory and healing properties.”

This is a great non-period item to find in this box! I’ve actually been wanting to try something from this brand, not only because their products look great, but also because they’re based here in Austin where I live too. I love lip scrubs so this one will be a fun one to try out. It has a beautiful color, smells lovely, is made with all-natural ingredients and has awesome plastic-free packaging. I’m sure I’m going to like this one!
