It’s summertime and that means all kinds of outdoor fun to be had! I’m having the best time this summer with an 18 month old. She’s finally old enough to enjoy outdoor activities and it’s finally warm enough to be outside every day soaking up some vitamin D and fresh air. This has inspired me to compile a list of eco-friendly summer items for kids. Read on to see my faves!
Subscription Box Favorites for the Month of June 2020
Holy cow! I truly cannot believe we are halfway through the year at this point. That means half of a year’s subscription boxes have already arrived on my doorstep! It’s been a really good six months for subscription boxes and I’ve been able to discover many helpful, useful, sustainable, eco-friendly and green products so far. Since summer is my favorite season I anticipate the next few months sending extra-great themed contents, but before I get ahead of myself I’ve got to share what fun finds I discovered this month. Read on for my faves from each box!
Goddess Provisions Lucid Dreams Box
I used to subscribe to Goddess Provisions and it’s still one of my favorite subscription boxes. It’s always filled with such amazing products for the mind and body and they always have the BEST themes. I had recently been in the market for some magnesium spray to help with getting better sleep and I got an email from Goddess Provisions saying there was a discount on their Lucid Dreaming themed box that just happened to include a magnesium spray so I decided to treat myself. Of course the rest of the items in the box are fun and useful too. Read on for my full review of this box!
June Small Actions Recap
If you saw one of my Instagram posts recently I decided to do a monthly accountability post to keep this movement top of mind and encourage myself and others to continue taking action. I decided to do one (if not all) of four different small actions each month and share about it in hopes that it will inspire others to do the same. Normally I’ll probably just share this on Instagram, but thought a little further explanation in a blog post could be helpful. So read on for more details!
May Subscription Box Favorites
Another month, an other round up of subscription box favorites! It was a quieter month on the subscription box front, but I still found so many treasures on my doorstep. My very favorite thing about subscription boxes (beside the element of surprise) is discovering new brands and products. This month brought some fun new finds from brands I’ve heard of but never tried (like Joolies). It also brought items from brands (like Klei, Revival Body Care, and Elements Truffles) that I have tried before, but ended up being products from their line I haven’t tried – so they helped me expand my collections! Read on for all the details!
Green Beauty Samples: Put to the Test – Round 8
Do you remember my Rainbow of Samples™ (just kidding it’s not trademarked, but maybe it should be?) stash that I’d been working through?? I know, it’s been awhile since I’ve shared a new one – whoops! I’ve been working through it, I just hadn’t gotten around to putting the posts together so I’ll hopefully have a few to share sooner rather than later this time. These posts might be more for me than anything as I find they keep me accountable for actually trying the samples out that I receive. And it’s not that I don’t want to try them out, I just forget or save them for like a special occasion or something? Who knows, but I do know that I have so many amazing products to try out so I thought I’d keep sharing my first impressions in case any of these are items you’ve been curious about too. Read on for quick first impression reviews from my GOLD stash of samples…
Natural Deodorant Faves – For Sensitive Skin
I’m back with my sensitive skin or baking soda-free deodorant favorites! As mentioned in my very original deodorant favorites post I hop around from deodorant to deodorant often, sometimes because one might all the sudden seem less effective and sometimes just for the curiosity of trying something new. Actually, when I was trying these 3 out I ended up having all three (plus some others) on rotation throughout the week because sometimes I just wanted a different scent or sometimes I didn’t feel like getting my hands messy so I used the stick version. It’s good to have options, ya know? Anyway, if you have sensitive skin and need to avoid baking soda in your natural deodorant, read on for a few that I’ve tried and liked!
April Subscription Box Favorites
A little belated, but better late than never! April ended up being a quieter month than last month for subscription boxes, but that doesn’t mean there was a shortage of awesome items. In fact, there were so many good items I really had trouble picking favorites so for some of the boxes I picked two! I mean, I know I’ve said before that it’s hard to choose, and really that’s because all the curators of these boxes put such thoughtfulness into what goes into them so that their subscribers really get a great value in their boxes full of goodness. Read on for my favorites from April!
Natural Deodorant Current Favorites
I hope you’ve all been taking advantage of this time of being around minimal people to something super important and exciting….and that’s trying out natural deodorant! Obviously, Ha! I mean, there really isn’t a better time, is there? No interaction with strangers or co-workers or even neighbors means that no one will have to know if you try one that doesn’t work. Sweating during a zoom call? No problem. Drenched after a workout? No problem. Even if it doesn’t work, not a soul will know there’s any BO in these situations except maybe your housemates, but they should love you anyway. I know natural deodorant isn’t for everyone, but it’s worth a try to find out! Read on for the most recent natural deodorants that I’ve tried out and really liked…
How-To: All Natural Pink Fabric Dye
Home decorating is definitely one of my most favorite hobbies. I love it and can sometimes get a little obsessed. Like when I was decorating my daughter’s nursery I just HAD to have a plain pink sheet because there’s already lots of white and other patterns in the room so I wanted something simple and that provided a pop of color. There were just a few problems that lead me to discover all natural fabric dye with avocado pits. Read on to see how it’s done!
