I’ve tested out a handful of the products and have all the details below! I was generously gifted the following products, but wasn’t obligated to write up this review. The products are just so beautiful though, I had to share! (opinions are entirely my own)
Elixir Crème
There’s something about this body cream that made me love it instantly! It’s light and fluffy with a whipped texture and absorbs into my skin like it’s giving it a hug. To be honest I didn’t even look at the ingredients or benefits before diving into it and as I was applying it to my super dry and eczema patched hands I was thinking it felt like it was made for that healing purpose. Well, guess what? It is! I mean I know it says “Heal + Replenish” on the label, but that could mean many things, like basic dry skin talk. But, no, this one is made for more than that. It’s made with some rich and hydrating oils that soothe skin so with regular use it will restore, calm and maintain skin’s health for any condition from itchiness and sunburn to irritation and eczema.
The ingredient list includes organic coconut oil, organic sunflower oil, cocoa butter, aloe vera, organic calendula infused oil and the essential oils of lavender, tea tree, frankincense, turmeric, sweet orange and rosemary which not only all help calm inflammation, but make it smell earthy, fresh and uplifting. It’s infused with the crystal elixirs of amethyst (heightens intuition and supports communication with Higher Self) and smokey quartz (grounding – supports the energy of safety and self acceptance) for added spiritual benefit. They noted that many skin conditions are rooted in the consciousness so these will aid in directing your mind to a caring and self-love mode to increase the healing power. It also has little amethyst crystals on the top and bottom of the jar for added benefits and of course because it looks pretty. I haven’t used this long enough to say if it could clear up my eczema, but it definitely feels soothing and my skin craves it so that’s a win to me. Love this stuff!
Elixir Detox Body Polish
This body polish is a dream! My first thought when I used it was, “Is this the body polish I’ve been looking all over for?? I think so!” I love the idea of natural ingredient, moisturizing body polishes but, they always end up being messy and leave the shower a greasy mess and sometimes the scrubber crystals are just too big and too abrasive for the skin. Not this one! The salt crystals are fine and of good ratio with the oils. It’s not too dry of a formula or too wet, it’s right at the sweet spot of being scoop-able and not too hard to handle. When applying, the sugar crystals actually stay on the skin rather than immediately fall to the floor and help provide a gentle, yet thorough exfoliation. There is a bit of oil that stays on the skin which is nice for the moisturizing benefits. After showering I just lightly dry the skin rather than wiping it with the towel to keep the oil on the skin. This one does end up leaving a bit of oil on the shower floor, but it’s not bad.
It smells very light with a hint of citrus and earthiness. The ingredient list includes organic coconut oil and 100% Pink Himalayan Sea Salt blended with organic rose and lavender essential oils along with organic ground rose petals and rose quartz powder. As it exfoliates skin it also deposits 75+ minerals to replace toxins it helped extract. It’s formulated to restore balance and moisture to the skin and holistically balance the mind too. The rose quartz crystal powder not only increases the exfoliated glow, but also spiritually brings energy of self-love, healing and restoration during use. This one is a good self-care tool and reminder that you’re worth that time for extra care.
Elixir Mellow Soap
This might be my favorite handmade soap I’ve tried in recent memory. It has a milky and generous lather that makes washing effortless. It’s SO good! This bar is a crystal and botanical infused soap for dry skin, which is exactly what I’m dealing with right now. Between the temps bouncing up and down, my eczema flare-ups and my penchant for hot showers, my poor skin is always dry so this soap is so perfect for me. Plus It’s made with some anti-inflammatory ingredients which helps with any skin fussiness happing in the current moment.
It’s made with turmeric powder, turmeric oil, citrine elixir, and white kaolin clay to help restore balance and calm to irritated skin. That citrine elixir along with citrine powder help heal on the spiritual level to support feelings of vitality, healing and rejuvenation. The citrine powder is made from very finely ground citrine crystals and is blended into the formula. It provides a super gentle and light exfoliation which feels so nice and helps boost circulation to bring a bit of glow to the skin. It also includes sandalwood and patchouli essential oils so it’s a soft and grounding earthy scent that’s light and calming to the senses. I just love using this soap and I’m going to be so sad when this one runs out!
Elixir Detox Soap
This bar so is also so wonderful! It’s another crystal and botanical infused soap, but this one is formulated for oily/acne prone skin types – that’s me! Yes, I’ve got it all – dry and oily! This bar can be used on the face or body and is formulated to reduce the overproduction of oil and re-center the skin’s oil balance and production. It’s made with activated charcoal, bentonite clay, moroccan clay, tea tree essential oil, manuka essential oil, hemp seed oil, and St. John’s Wort oil along with obsidian and clear quartz powders and elixirs. It has a slightly floral and softly soothing scent from added essential oils of ylang ylang and cypress. These ingredients all combine to be soothing to the skin, senses and spirit and aim to detox, heal and mend fussy skin.
The crystal infusions on this one are especially helpful as the powders themselves give a very gentle exfoliation to skin and the crystal healing powers from the obsidian helps detox negative energy and clear quartz helps provide mental clarity, so combined they help the mind overcome what feels like the burden of problem skin to increase healing through a positive mindset. I’ve been into using soap bars as a second step in my double cleansing method for my face so this one is perfect for that, but I might give it a try for body cleansing too. All skin needs to detox so I love that this is multipurpose.
I just love the mission of this brand to incorporate holistic healing into physical healing. I’ve been working so hard on creating rituals and carving space for some real self-care so these tools are just what I needed in my arsenal of goods. Crystal healing might seem a bit woo-woo, but it’s really about the crystal invoking your mind to consider it’s healing benefit. You can think of them as influencing you to meditate on positivity if that makes more sense. Of course, even if you aren’t completely into crystal healing, these products are still wonderful for their nourishing skin benefits and plus they just look beautiful too. They would make the perfect gift for yourself of others too. And be sure to check out the rest of their product line too, everything else looks just as fantastic.
Have you tried out Elixir Apothecary yet? Or which of these sounds like something you need to try out??
