I’ve always shied away from body oils, as I was afraid they would irritate my skin or cause unsightly blemishes. I think by doing that I was depriving my skin of the extra moisture it craved though. When I ran across Rachel’s Plan Bee Body Oil and found they have a mini size you can try before you buy I thought, what the hell? Why not give it a try. I’m so glad I did as it does everything I was hoping and smells amazing! While I was at it, I snagged a couple other mini size products too – the Body Polish and Body butter. Rachel’s Plan Bee products are all lovingly made by hand with all-natural (often organic) ingredients and are intended to help you slow down and nurture your body while embracing life’s unexpected twists and turns. That really spoke to me since I’ve encountered several unexpected turns with my journey to starting a family and gave me all the more reason to try these products myself. Read on to find out why I’ve liked everything I’ve tried so much:
What it is:
Rachel’s Plan Bee Body Oil is a head to toe body oil that is made from organic apricot kernel oil, organic sunflower oil and organic cranberry seed oil that all help to seal in moisture and hydrate skin. Cranberry seed oil is especially good for skin as it’s one of the only oils with a balanced ratio of omega 3 and omega 6 fatty acids meaning that it absorbs really well and therefore the antioxidants and nutrients in the oil are even more likely to absorb and be used in the body. Aside for the base oils, essential oils are added to create the most delicious vanilla citrus scent. It smells like a dreamsicle!
Why I like it:
This body oil is the perfect consistency, rubs in easily and does not leave a greasy residue. I purchased the mini size that has an eyedropper dispenser but if you buy the full size it comes with a dispenser pump which is awesome since your hands obviously get oily when applying and often times you have to go back for more – so easy! Also, I know I already mentioned the smell but it’s just so good I have to mention again. It’s sweet, but not too sweet and is extra soothing to the senses.
Who it’s good for:
This would be good for all skin types for use pretty much anywhere on the body. It’s a wonderfully hydrating oil so if you have extra dry skin this would especially be good for you.
When & How I use it:
I like to use this right after the shower to maximize the sealing of moisture. Since it’s summer I’ve mostly been using it on my legs after shaving. It leaves my skin soft and silky and doesn’t cause any irritation and has actually seemed to help reduce any ingrown hair issues. It also doesn’t seem to be affected by these hotter summer days as I don’t notice it getting re-greasy when outside which is great! I plan on using it as a more all over body oil as it gets colder too – I think it will be perfect for my arms. I read on their website that many people use this as a scalp treatment and many expecting mamas use this for a belly oil. I haven’t tried either but I suspect it would work great for both.

And if you are like me and like to try before you buy, the mini size is here for only $8!
What it is:
Rachel’s Plan Bee Body Polish is made from organic shea butter, organic sugar and Moroccan lava clay. These ingredients provide a gentle exfoliation and moisturize at the same time.
Why I like it:
My skin feels extra soft after using this one and doesn’t leave too much of a greasy residue behind, only enough to know that it’s moisturizing (which means it leaves the tub a bit slippery but not too bad). I bought the original scent for this so of course I love that citrus vanilla smell but there are several others that are enticing too: Lavender Mojito, Mint Julep & Coconut Beach all sound divine!
Who it’s good for:
This is good for all skin types – however I would probably avoid it you have really irritated skin since this will buff up skin a bit. It is not recommended for the face either.
When & How I use it:
I use this in the shower often after shaving but also as an all over body scrub. I use it at the very end and then turn the heat on the water a bit more to ensure the surface sugar gets washed off. Then I follow up by patting dry.

What it is:
Rachel’s Plan Bee Body Butter is made of shea butter, apricot kernel oil & grapeseed oil for maximum hydration.
Why I like it:
This body butter is creamy with almost a whipped consistency and is extra hydrating while not leaving skin overly greasy. I know will be even more useful when the winter months roll around. It has the same amazing scent as the other two products too!
Who it’s good for:
All skin types, especially dry skin.
When & How I use it:
I like to use this on my arms and hands but can be used all over. I like to use it at night before bed so it can work its magic while I sleep.
Where you can find it:
Because the body butter can be affected by heat in shipping it is not currently available but should be back online in late fall so you can stock up then! Info here.
