Switching up my regular Sunday post over here because, well the old one was becoming not that regular. If you read the last one, you’ll have seen that while I love to read and consume info and stories from articles around the web, my time to do so has dwindled so I don’t often have that many to share. So from now one I’m going to do a little quick-fire check-in each week of what I’ve been up to, what I’ve discovered and what I’ve been loving.
This week flew by in the blink of an eye. My baby girl is teetering (literally) on the brink of walking so she’s keeping me so busy as the lead “head-bonk preventer” – I know it’s inevitable, but if I can prevent bruises, blood or stitches, I’ll try! So far so good, *knock on wood*. We visited the library for the first time this week and she mostly just like pulling the books off the shelf. I’m sure the librarian loved that haha. I tried putting them back in the correct order but, doubt I got it 100. I also tried a new physical therapist out for postpartum PT this week and I think she’s good – verdict is still out. Do any of you have experience with this or would like more info? Anyway, that’s a couple of snippets from this week. I’d love to know what you’ve been up to! Now, onto the Sunday 7:
1 – Recipe I want to try
Yum, yum, yum! This paleo pear crisp is sounding sooo good right about now to combat this chilly mid-fall weather.
2 – Article from this week
I’ve always been adamant that 40 hr/5 day work weeks are just too much and that the same amount of work can be done in less time. This article proves it with a recent study done in Japan.
3 – Instagram account to follow
Mothersbefore – I just stumbled upon this one this week and it’s a whole bunch of submitted vintage photos of women before they became mothers and a snippet about each one from their child. It’s easy to get sucked into this one, especially if you love vintage photos and warm, love-y vibes.
4 – New item I’m loving
I just tried out some samples I got of the Flourish Beauty Patchouli Shampoo + Conditioner and first impression is that I really like it a lot! I’d recommend after just one use.
5 – What baby is loving
We bought this rug recently for baby’s room so she could have a soft place to play. It’s not at all a green/eco-friendly item, but is cute and affordable and is saving my sanity.
6 – A green tip
Found this one on the Good Intent shop IG this week: If you’re getting takeout for dinner, go into the restaurant and order it “for here” to avoid unnecessary extras like bags, utensils, condiments and napkins. You can bring your own container, do a quick transfer and be on your way in like 2 minutes. I must admit I haven’t tried this one yet, but now it’s in my mind to remember for next time!
7 – What I’m eating this week:
Pears: PSA Costco has bags of organic pears for $7.99 right now. There like at least 15 pears in the bag – it’s a steal. The only downside is they ripen and can go bad quickly so once they turn yellow they’ve gotta go in the fridge for prolonging. Me and the baby eat 2 a day to get through them and I’m thinking some pear crisp up there is on the plans for this weekend.
Bonus – Sales Happening:
Two mega green beauty sales are happening this weekend! Both the Detox Market and Credo Beauty are having 20% off of almost everything this weekend. If you’ve been eyeing some green beauty, now’s the time to get it! Sales end today!
And that’s a wrap on the week ending 11.10.19. Ciao for now!
