Hey friends! It’s Sunday again and we are less than 2 weeks out from Thanksgiving – how!?! I’m hosting a small get together this year so I’ve been trying to menu plan this weekend. Trying to be ahead of the game instead of last-minuting it ya know. My must-haves are green bean casserole and pumpkin pie. I really could do without the turkey, haha, but it doesn’t really feel like Thanksgiving without it so I guess we’ll have that too. What are your must-haves and are you hosting this year? I’d love to know!
Here’s this weeks Sunday 7:
1 – Recipe I want to try
Ok, this is a bit of a cheat because I’ve tried this recipe before, but I’m trying to decide if I want to make it again this year: Black Bottomed Pumpkin Pie with Marshmallow. I love regular pumpkin pie but this one’s got all the good stuff! It’s no bake too- easy!
2 – From around the web
I actually saw this last week, and maybe you already did too, but this video of a little boy talking to his dad while potty training is just so cute and silly so I’m still gonna share it anyway.
3 – Instagram account to follow
I’ve got another great mothering related IG account to share this week: we.are.mamakind. It’s the very best collection of snippets on mothering from literature, articles, spoken words and more and each is paired with a beautiful work of art that’s almost as if they were made for each other. It’s so thoughtfully curated and is so relatable. If you’re new to mothering or seasoned, it’s a really good one to check out.
4 – New item I’m loving
I had been testing some samples of the Ere Perez Quinoa Water Foundation and after sampling, decided to purchase the full size during the Detox Market sale last weekend. It’s a nice lightweight and simple foundation for light coverage. I’ll be sure to share more details soon.
5 – What baby is loving
This girl loves this pumpkin spice applesauce from Whole Foods. She will eat so much of it and it really is so good. Not a substitute for pumpkin pie or anything but if you’re trying to be uber healthy at Thanksgiving or have a baby you want to give something festive to, this is a good option.
6 – A green tip
I haven’t even put up any Christmas lights yet this year but I just saw this tip about how to recycle any that don’t work and you know there’s always one string that ends up not working even though it did last year. Lowe’s will take any non-working string lights and they’ll properly recycle them because they are not recyclable in curbside recycling bins.
7 – What I’m eating this week:
I’ve been eating an easy to whip up lunch this week: spaghetti squash with pizza sauce and ground chicken. The spaghetti squash is from Costco and all you have to do is heat it up so I scoop some out, top with some pizza or spaghetti sauce and meat. I had ground chicken so that’s what I used. Easy, healthy and filling!
And that’s a wrap on the week ending 11.17.19. Ciao for now!
