Swedest Marketplace Box Review – March 2020

I’m so lucky to have recently discovered another new subscription box from Swedest Marketplace. I’m even more lucky to have won a launch box from a recent IG contest! They sent me such an amazing selection of goodies that really impressed me. I’m not obligated in any way to share my thoughts on their new subscription, but since I love subscription boxes (might be borderline obsessed) and the contents are so great, I just had to share (as usual, all opinions are my own)!

Swedest Marketplace was born from a family blog created as they guided their daughter through some health challenges. It inspired healing for the whole family with clean and nutritious food and further inspired the start of a marketplace to share organic, biodynamic and non-toxic products from their favorite businesses.

Subscription Details

Each quarterly box contains carefully curated selection of items that are clean and delicious products from up-and-coming, health-conscious companies. Products can include things like nut butters, chocolate, and biodynamic coffee or even home goods and children’s products (if that fits your needs). Their boxes are curated with an eye toward elevated organics – products that emphasize regenerative, sustainable and non-toxic sources and ingredients. The box contents can be a total surprise, or they can curate them based on your general preferences (ie: they can be mindful of food allergies, etc.). The cost of each quarterly box is $50 with a value of $75 or more in premium products. Shipping for subscription boxes is free!

Here’s a look at what was in this quarter’s box:

Unna Vanilla Dream Cookies

These Vanilla Dream Cookies are award-winning, crisp and airy and melt in your mouth cookies. Unna uses a European leavener to help rise and create tiny holes in each cookie that gives it a special character. It’s a bit crumbly and you might make a mess when eating this but it’s worth it.

These sound so delicious! They are made with simple, natural ingredients like real butter and vanilla bean. They are more crumbly cookie which I think makes them sound like the perfect pairing for tea, a nice afternoon treat. It’s kind of nice that these come in little 2 packs so they stay fresh too. Cookies are definitely a treat for me so I will savor these for sure!

Siete Grain Free Tortilla Chips

Say hello to the new kids on the block! These grain-free chips are dairy-free, powered by avocado oil, and made with natural ingredients (and lots of love!). With a selection of flavors like Ranch, Nacho, Fuego, and, Sal y Limón, there’s a flavor for everyone to enjoy.

I love these tortilla chips! I’ve tried the original Sea Salt version before and think they are a great alternative to traditional corn tortilla chips. They are made with cassava flour instead, which provides a similar texture, but it’s a little lighter and crispier. What I like about these chips is that they use avocado oil instead of another vegetable oil to crisp them up. It’s a much healthier alternative. I’ve never tried the Nacho flavor, but I’m sure it’s delicious. It’s a dairy free cheese flavor that’s made with nutritional yeast. These individual packs are great for taking on the go or packing for lunch. They are also great for keeping me from eating the whole full sized bag in one sitting, haha.

Gryph + Ivyrose Daily Embrace Shampoo + Conditioner

A daily use, luxurious and natural shampoo and conditioner. Gentle enough for infants, effective enough for the whole family. Leaves hair soft and manageable.

This shampoo and conditioner in one is for the littles, although I’m tempted to try it for myself too because it smells so lovely! It’s like peaches and berries – bright, tart and sweet. It’s made with plant-based ingredients including goji berry, tremelia, ginger and their proprietary herbal blend that’s said to enhance moisture and shine. It’s a creamy formula, but isn’t too thick either. It seems like a little will go a long way so this will likely last a long time. I love the packaging on this one too, it’s so cute and fun.

Beauty Bar Chocolate

Eating Beauty Bar Chocolate will bring you calm energy, enhance brain focus all while getting spa-like skin! That’s because of the ingredients. Rhodiola will help with brain focus & the Pearl powder will help stimulate collagen for glowing skin, and strong nails & hair.

Yay! I’ve been wanting to try this chocolate out so I’m so excited to find it among the collection. I had added this to one of my holiday gift guide posts this last holiday season because I thought it was so pretty and I also loved the added health benefits it has. It’s got some extra ingredients specially selected to help your mind and skin. Rhodiola is an adaptogen that helps relieve stress, fatigue & balance hormones; Pearl collagen helps increase the health of skin, hair & nails; and Raw Cacao creates feelings of bliss and brings a calming energy. All ingredients are organic and non-gmo and it’s sweetened only with monkfruit. I mean, this chocolate really sound like a health food, count me in!

Jem Organic Superberry Almond Butter

The Superberry blend is almond butter elevated! This delicious spread is made with sprouted organic almonds and antioxidant-rich Maqui, Lucuma and Camu Camu fruits and berries. Almond butter is already a superfood – now it’s reached another level.

Wow, this is so delicious! This was the first thing I dug into and I’m so glad I did. I’m a packaging nerd and so my eye was drawn to the clean and fun aesthetic of this one, so that’s why I grabbed it first (also, I was in need of a snack, haha). This almond butter is next level as it’s got a deliciously sweet and tart superfood berry blend added to it. It’s not as thick as plain almond butter normally is, it’s actually more runny, but that was actually perfect for spreading and would be even more perfect for drizzling on top of oatmeal, a smoothie bowl or really everything! It’s entirely organic and is sweetened only with coconut sugar. I’m sure I’ll be ordering more jars of this one when it runs out.

Bow Hill Organic Blueberry Confiture

This organic blueberry spread is farm crafted from the bluecrop variety. It’s rich texture is lightly sweetened with organic cane juice and has the perfect balance of cardamom and lemon to enhance the pure essence of the blueberry. There is no alternative to the feel and flavor of this confiture.

Blueberries are probably one of my favorite fruits so this jam is perfect. Surprisingly, I don’t recall if I’ve ever actually tried blueberry jam though. It’s not the most common to find, so this will be such a treat! It’s made with super simple ingredients, just blueberries, evaporated cane juice, lemon juice, pectin and spices. All the ingredients are organic and it’s made on the farm where the blueberries grow. Um, and when I was just researching on their website I discovered they also make pickled blueberries – I’m so intrigued! I look forward to trying this jam on all kinds of things for my snacks and breakfasts.

Holistic Roasters Biodynamic Coffee Rubicon Lighter Roast

From the Marcala region of Honduras, this wonderful Biodynamic coffee comes from the Contreras family farms and cooperatives. Kickstart your day with a fresh, clean cup of this lighter roast coffee – perfect for a pour-over or a tasty espresso when you’re ready to focus your mind & body.

Yum! This coffee smells so delicious! The perfect aroma to wake up to. I love the whole vibe of this coffee from how it’s made to what they stand for. This coffee is one of the cleanest coffees you can buy. They select the highest quality coffee that’s grown using regenerative farming practices that aim to improve the natural environment by putting more into the land than they take. It’s also beyond organic meaning that it’s not only grown without the use of herbicides, fungicides, pesticides or chemical fertilizers, but (unlike organic farming) they don’t even make exceptions for using certain broad-spectrum natural pesticides. Super clean! This roast is their light roast and is perfect for pour over or french press. It has higher levels of antioxidants, so added health benefits too. On top of all that, the packaging they use is entirely compostable. Good stuff!

Final thoughts:

Wow! What a fun, well-rounded and delightful selection of products this subscription box has. I love that it stocked up my pantry a bit with goods I needed, but brands and specific products I’d never tried. It’s not just plain and useful items, but items I truly want to try and look forward to using. One thing I really like is how this box might give you repeats or similar items over time, like a different flavor of an item you’ve received before. That way you might be able to sample full product lines to find a favorite and if you really loved something you might be surprised with it again too. I’m certain you’d love everything anyway, because the item selection at Swedest is just so thoughtful and carefully curated from the get-go. They only send things they love and use themselves, so you know you’re getting the best of the best, trusted goods. I also have to mention that the family that runs this is so kind (and of course generous) and will provide such wonderful customer service so that you feel like the box you’re getting is a little present from them to you. This box is really for anyone, but especially those looking for high quality and organic items from small business brands that are passionate about what they create. If you can’t tell, I’d highly recommend this subscription box! Let me know if you try it out and what you think of it!
