The Farmer’s Touch makes chemical-free, cruelty-free, handcrafted products made directly from the field for your skin. Their products are always organic, cruelty-free, and as sustainably packaged as possible and they are always committed to learning and advancing their products and their company. They recently launched a lovely new skincare line called the Roots Collection made for a very specific skin type (read on to find out which type!). They kindly sent me this line to review in exchange for my thoughts.
The Farmer’s Touch products are such a delight! They are so lovingly made with such thoughtfully sourced plant-based ingredients, many of them grown right on their own farm. For any ingredients that they don’t grow, they’ll source them organically. They make and package every magical product by hand in the Hudson Valley using minimal packaging, biodegradable labels and reusable containers. They pride themselves on creating all natural products at a affordable price for everyone to enjoy.
The new (or newish- as it launched a few months ago) Roots Collection from The Farmer’s Touch is an age defying skincare line specifically created those with aging skin. It’s meant to nourish and tend to skin that’s lost it’s luster and provide gentle rejuvenation through the magic of plant-based organic skincare.

The Farmer’s Touch Root Collection
Age Defying Lotion
This age defying lotion is made with cocoa butter, shea butter, coconut oil, moringa oil, tangerine oil, orange extract, lemon, sandalwood, clary sage, pomegranate, lavender, carrot seed, ylang-ylang, rosemary, frankincense and rose (all organic). It smells truly delightful, like one of those scents that you just want to keep smelling over and over. It’s bright, crisp and refreshing, yet light and not overpowering. The texture is the same. It’s lightweight, yet also feels very hydrating. I’m sure you could use this on any aging skin from your face to your hands and body.
Age Defying Facial Mask
This age defying facial mask has the most lovely hue of rich burgundy/magenta from the addition of rose petals. This a nourishing and gentle mask intended to deliver nutrients to skin while it sets. It’s is made with papaya, coconut oil, pineapple oil, rose petals, arrow root powder, carrot seed oil, lavender (all ingredients are organic). It’s a pre-made mask that’s quick and easy to apply by putting a small amount on your skin or problem areas and allow to sit for 5 min then rinse off.
Age Defying Facial Serum
The Age Defying Facial Serum is made with lemon, sandalwood, clary safe, pomegranate, lavender, carrot seed, ylang-ylang, rosemary, frankincense and rose (all ingredients are organic). It’s lightweight and has a floral aroma that’s a bit fruity and is as nourishing to the senses as the oil is to the skin. I like how all these products include so many nutrient rich ingredients to feed skin healthy benefits.
Eyelash Serum
I know from experience that hair loss can happen as we age so this Eyelash Serum is a great tool to add with your order of the bundle. It doesn’t currently come with it, but is definitely beneficial. It helps the growth of the your eyelashes and likely brows too. It’s made with Organic Vitamin E, Organic Argan Oil, Organic Aloe Vera Gel, Organic Castor Oil, Organic Jojoba Oil, Organic Red Clover, Carrot, Bamboo and Propolis Extract. I’ll be curious to see how this one performs!
Under Eye Calm Balm
The under eye area is certainly one to focus on as skin ages since skin can become thinner and more delicate. This eye balm will deliver nourishing benefits and moisturize that area gently. It’s made with coconut oil, coffee bean oil, Brazilian coffee bean oil, ginseng, cucumber seed oil, shae butter.
Lip Oil
This item didn’t come with my bundle, but is included in all current bundles ordered. This lip oil is a blend made with raspberry, watermelon, cucumber, carrot seed oil, peach seed oil, apricot seed oil (all organic). It sounds like it would be a delightfully fruity lip treatment that will moisturize and provide nutrients to lips that need it most.
Body Whip
A lovely, rich body lotion good for dryer skin types. It smells amazing – cooling, crisp and a bit sweet. It’s made with a blend of coconut oil, Brazilian coffee bean oil, ginseng, cucumber seed oil, and shea butter. This will be so useful as the cooler temps roll in to help keep my skin from getting too dried out. This item isn’t part of the Roots Collection, but it would be great for aging and dryer skin so is the perfect add-on item that I received along with the collection itself.
Vegan Lip Whips in Butterfly Kisses and Mint
This is another product not included in the Roots Collection, but was a little bonus item thrown in. These are the two version of their Vegan Lip Whip which is a moisturizing lip balm good for all seasons. The pink one gets its lovely subtle pink color and soft fruity aroma from freeze dried strawberries. Both are made with Organic Shea Butter, Organic Coconut, Organic Calendula Wax and the pink has Freeze Dried Strawberries while the other has mint extract. It feels so nice and moisturizing on lips and gives them the perfect hint of shine.
Final thoughts:
Overall I think The Farmer’s Touch Roots Collection line is so lovely! As I get closer and closer to 40, aging skin is more and more on my mind so this type of line is something that interests me. I feel like anti-aging skincare is a long game so I can’t confirm if it will reduce aging as I get older, but I like how it’s made and it’s intentions so I would certainly recommend trying it out.
Like I mentioned above, I appreciate how all of these items include so many interesting and nutrient rich (not to mention simple, plant-based and organic) ingredients to help skin as it ages since nutrient deficiency can increase. I also like how each item feels like a treat for skin too so the caring for skin can become a more holistic self care practice while you work on loving the skin that’s changing. Aging is part of life, but gentle, nourishing and indulgent skincare like this should be too!
